Something Doesn’t Feel Right

You don’t have to have all the answers. If something feels off, there are safe ways to check in, get help, and support someone.

Trust Your Gut

If a situation makes you uncomfortable or concerned, you can do something without putting yourself in danger. Small actions can help interrupt harm and connect someone with support.

What Can You Do Right Now?

1. Check In

Find a simple, low pressure way to connect with the person.

“Hey, are you okay?”
“Want to come sit with us?”
“Do you need anything?”

2. Find Another Person

You don’t have to handle the situation alone. Ask a friend, faculty member, staff member, campus employee, or another trusted person to help.

3. Use the 3 Ds

Distract, Delegate, or Document depending on the situation and what feels safe.
