In 2020, we worked with 794 new primary and secondary Sexual Assault Survivors. Of those, 461 were primary survivors and 333 were secondary survivors.

2020 Age Demographics:

  • Age 0-4  – 18 primary, 1 secondary
  • Age 5-17 – 262 primary, 12 secondary
  • Ages 18-64 – 173 primary, 315 secondary
  • Ages 65+ – 8 primary. 5 secondary

2020 Gender Identification:

  • Female – 403 primary, 265 secondary
  • Male – 58 primary, 68 secondary

2020 Race/Ethnicity: 

  • White – 270 primary, 208 secondary
  • Black/African-American – 89 primary, 45 secondary
  • American Indian/Alaska Native – 2 primary, 2 secondary
  • Asian – 3 primary, 0 secondary
  • Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander – 0 primary, 1 secondary
  • Hispanic – 52 primary, 75 secondary
  • Two or more – 8 primary, 2 secondary

2020 County where assault occurred:

  • St. Lucie –  228 primary, 173 secondary
  • Indian River – 70 primary, 57 secondary
  • Martin – 118 primary, 70 secondary
  • Okeechobee – 45 primary, 33 secondary

SAAPTC is currently working with 2,144 new and on-going primary and secondary survivors. These include victims of Adult Sexual Assault, Adults Sexually Abused/Assaulted as Children, Child Pornography, Child Sexual Abuse/Assault, and Human Sex Trafficking.
