In 2019, we worked with 859 new primary and secondary Sexual Assault Survivors. Of those, 577 were primary survivors and 316 were secondary survivors.

2019 Age Demographics:

  • Age 0-4  – 19 primary, 6 secondary
  • Age 5-17 – 281 primary, 11 secondary
  • Ages 18-64 – 241 primary, 289 secondary
  • Ages 65+ – 2 primary. 10 secondary

2019 Gender Identification:

  • Female – 465 primary, 242 secondary
  • Male – 78 primary, 74 secondary

2019 Race/Ethnicity: 

  • White – 351 primary, 207 secondary
  • Black/African-American – 125 primary, 64 secondary
  • Hispanic – 106 primary, 64 secondary
  • Two or more – 14 primary, 7 secondary

2019 County where assault occurred:

  • St. Lucie –  246 primary, 138 secondary
  • Indian River – 102 primary, 66 secondary
  • Martin – 158 primary, 91 secondary
  • Okeechobee – 37 primary, 21 secondary

SAAPTC is currently working with 1,653 new and on-going primary and secondary survivors. These include victims of Adult Sexual Assault, Adults Sexually Abused/Assaulted as Children, Child Pornography, Child Sexual Abuse/Assault, and Human Sex Trafficking.
