HOW WE HELP
24/7 Helpline
You can call SAAP any time, day or night, for free and confidential support.
You do not need to be in crisis to call. You can reach out with questions, for emotional support, to understand your options, or simply because you need someone to listen.
You can start with a conversation.
You do not have to know what you want to do next. An advocate can listen, answer questions, and help you understand available options.
1-866-828-7273WHEN CAN I CALL?
You can call whenever you need support.
There is no “right” reason to reach out.
Something Just Happened
You may be overwhelmed, unsure what to do, or trying to understand what happened.
It Happened a Long Time Ago
Support is still available, even if the experience happened months or years ago.
You Have Questions
You can ask about forensic exams, reporting, rights, resources, or other options.
You Are Supporting Someone
Loved ones can also call for information, guidance, and support.
WHAT TO EXPECT
What happens when you call?
An advocate will listen to what you want to share and help you identify what would feel helpful in that moment.
You are not required to tell your entire story. You can share as much or as little as you are comfortable sharing.
An advocate may:
- Listen and provide emotional support.
- Help you understand available options.
- Answer questions about SAAP services.
- Explain forensic exam options.
- Provide information about reporting.
- Help with safety planning.
- Connect you with local resources.
- Discuss advocacy or accompaniment.
YOUR CHOICES MATTER
Calling does not commit you to any next step.
You can ask questions, talk through what happened, or explore options without deciding to report, seek a forensic exam, or take another specific action.
The goal is to support your choices and help you understand what is available.
You decide what happens next.CONFIDENTIAL SUPPORT
Your privacy matters.
SAAP provides confidential support and advocacy to survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones.
An advocate can also explain any limits that may apply based on age, safety concerns, or other legal requirements.
Support is available 24 hours a day.
You do not need insurance, payment, or a police report to call the helpline.
