Healing doesn’t ask you to become the person you were before your trauma. It gives you the opportunity to discover the person you are becoming.

There is strength in every boundary you set, every moment you choose yourself, and every step you take toward healing. Even on the days that feel uncertain, your progress is still real.

You are allowed to grow. You are allowed to find joy again. You are allowed to move forward without leaving your story behind.

Your past may always be a part of you, but it does not define your future. Your healing belongs to you, and so does the life you’re continuing to build.

If you or someone you know is looking for support, our advocates are here to listen, believe, and help.

Content Warning: This documentary discusses grooming, child sexual abuse, and trauma. Please take care of yourself while watching. If anything comes up for you or you need someone to talk to afterwards, our advocates are here for you 24/7 at 1-866-828-7273.

Today marks 20 years since charges were first filed against Jeffrey Epstein for sexually abusing children.

Two decades later, survivors are still living with the impact of what happened to them. Their experiences are also a reminder of what can happen when warning signs are missed, survivors are questioned instead of believed, and the systems meant to protect them fall short.

WPTV created GROOMED: Surviving Epstein to look back at the past 20 years, hear directly from survivors, examine the warning signs of grooming, and reflect on what went wrong and what still needs to change.

We encourage our community and @followers to take the time to watch this important documentary.

At the Sexual Assault Assistance Program, we know how important it is for survivors to have a safe place where they can be heard, believed, and supported without judgment. We provide free and confidential services to survivors of all ages and genders throughout Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee counties.

We stand with the survivors who courageously shared their stories and with every survivor who is not ready or able to share theirs. What happened was not your fault. Support is available whenever you are ready.

Survivors never have to navigate what happened to them alone.

For many survivors, one of the most meaningful parts of healing isn’t hearing the perfect words. It’s knowing someone is willing to listen.

Listening without judgment. Without rushing to respond. Without asking someone to explain or prove what they’ve experienced.

Being heard can help remind someone that their voice matters, that their experiences are valid, and that they don’t have to carry the weight of their story alone.

Whether someone chooses to share what they’ve been through today, years from now, or never at all, every survivor deserves to be met with compassion, respect, and belief.

Today, take a moment to listen with an open heart. Sometimes your presence, your patience, and your willingness to simply be there can mean more than you realize.

At the Sexual Assault Assistance Program, we believe every survivor deserves to be heard, supported, and believed, whenever they are ready.

You are not alone🫢🏼
